It's been a really exciting year for our Bradford Peregrines, with one of our nestboxes successfully used for the first time. Now that the breeding season is coming to a close, here's a roundup of news from all our sites.

All the focus has been on Lister Mills as our Manningham Falcons bred successfully (we think) for the first time ever. They laid 4 eggs and 2 of the eggs hatched, before the chicks were raised by the adults live on our web cameras! Both chicks fledged successfully and have been seen around the chimney most days since. They will be dependent on the parents for food for several weeks yet. Engagement with Manningham locals has been amazing. Thanks so much for all your comments. It's been brilliant sharing and enjoying the Lister Mills Peregrines with you all. We even had a number of schools who watched along online.

At Keighley our resident Falcons raised 4 chicks in the chimney alcove. 3 fledged and flew well, the 4th became grounded and was rescued by our local team member, Lee. Sadly he had a fractured Coracoid - a common injury for urban juveniles, often caused by collision. Without help he would never have flown again. Fortunately, the amazing raptor rehabilitator, Jean Thorpe, worked her magic on our young male Peregrine, who has made a full recovery. We released him at Dalton Mills yesterday where he flew strongly. Fingers crossed he does well. Jean has ringed him, with a bright yellow darvic ring that reads YAH - so please let us know if you see him.

Things have been very quiet at Salts and Victoria Mills this year - please let us know if you have any sightings there. We're interested in tracking down any Falcon fans at Victoria Mills in particular, so please get in touch if you've watched Peregrines there. We've heard they may have bred there a few years ago. Let us know if you saw them.
There was no breeding at the Damart chimney in Bingley, but we have had a number of sightings this year, including during the breeding season. We're still hopeful we will see Peregrines breeding here at some point in the future.

At City Hall in the centre of Bradford we installed a nestbox back in February. which was a little too late to see the Peregrines nest there this year. The resident pair have sat on the perch on top of the nestbox several times, but they haven't yet ventured inside. We're hoping they will use the nestbox next year.
So that's our site roundup for another year. We of course have plans for more exciting developments during the off-season so keep on the lookout for news, join our socials if you haven't already, and please let us know any Peregrine sightings you have. Please spread the word about Bradford Peregrines, and get your friends hooked on the Falcons for next year.
